The Cosmetic Cluster.PT is a complementary organ of AEBB - Associação Empresarial da Beira Baixa, private association without lucrative purposes of public utility, based in the city of Covilhã, in Portugal, and has the objective to promote the sustainable development and the competitiveness of the cosmetic sector value chain. Formally created the complementary body in 2022, it has concerted activity since 2016, and has been growing in number of members from the cosmetics sector, currently integrating more than 50 Portuguese companies. It seeks to establish itself as the unifying association for stakeholders within the cosmetics value chain in Portugal, leading the sector's representation in international networking platforms dedicated to the internationalisation and innovation of cosmetics. It promotes internationalisation, innovation, training, digital transformation, and the green transition, working towards the sustainable development and competitiveness of the Portuguese cosmetics value chain, with competence and professionalism, integrity and ethics, creativity and innovation. It is a DGERT- certified accredited training entity, offering education and training in various fields.

It is a founding member of the world’s first global network of cosmetics clusters – the Global Cosmetics Cluster - Worldwide Beauty Connections Network, representing Portugal, and the first international cluster network dedicated to innovation in cosmetics. It is also a partner of the thematic European S3 platform, recently promoted by the European Union, focused on industrial modernisation – Digital Transition and Green Transition – in the cosmetics sector, called Go4Cosmetics. Throughout its activities, Cosmetic Cluster.PT has been consolidating the representation of Portuguese companies in the cosmetics sector. Additionally, it is involved in the development of the value chain for endogenous or nationally produced aromatic and medicinal plants, aligning with an approach that seeks to add value to these resources as ingredients for cosmetic products.

Commission for Coordination and Regional Development of the Centro

CCDRC, I.P. (Commission for Coordination and Regional Development of the Centro) is a public institute that has as mission to define and implement strategies for regional development; to integrate and territorially coordinate public policies essential for implementing regional development policies in areas such as the environment, cities, economy, culture, land use planning, nature conservation, agriculture, and fisheries; to ensure the planning and management of cohesion policy within the framework of regional programs and European territorial cooperation programs, aligned with the programming cycles of European Union policies, aiming at the economic, social, and cultural development of the territories within its jurisdiction; and to provide technical support to local authorities and their associations. CCDRC, I.P., is responsible for ensuring logistical, administrative, and financial support to the Managing Authority of the Operational Program Centro 2030 and it is also the entity in charge of the development and implementation of the regional smart specialisation strategy, which has “Natural resources and Bioeconomy” as one of its differentiating domains.
