North-West Regional Development Agency (North-West RDA) acts as the primary catalyst for growth and development in Romania's North-West Region, encompassing six counties: Bihor, Bistrita-Nasaud, Cluj, Maramures, Salaj, and Satu Mare. Established in 1998, North-West RDA manages European funds to enhance quality of life, foster innovation, and promote excellence across all sectors. Its vision is to transform the region into a European competitiveness hub, reducing existing regional imbalances, fostering collaboration among stakeholders, and leveraging local resources effectively.

Strategic Goals:

  • Manages the NW Regional Programme to support the development of public institutions, business, academia and NGOs

  • Coordinates the S3, monitoring and assisting in the maturing stages of the portfolio of innovative projects.

  • Attracts and brokers foreign investments for the innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem

  • Designs and implements projects in international partnerships through various grant-funded programmes

  • Initiates and supports the development of clusters in the region

North-West RDA collaborates closely with regional stakeholders to increase visibility, attract investments, and foster cooperation opportunities. Its project portfolio focuses on capacity building, knowledge exchange, and the dissemination of best practices in fields like innovation, research, business assistance, and internationalization, aiming to support regional priority sectors and smart specialization fields.
